The Preßnitz Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys of the Ore Mountains region. The opening of the area through mining and industry in earlier years created a unique cultural landscape. The history of the region is present everywhere you turn. Throughout all of it, the Preßnitz Valley has retained its natural beauty, enchanting all of its visitors.

The hilltop is visible from all directions and offers a stunning 360° view of the area. The hillsides are woodless and, particularly towards the town of Wolkenstein and the ridgeline of the Ore Mountains, offer a wide view. Sandbach Valley

Sandbach Valley

Green meadows, the clear water of the stream and tall trees make the Sandbach valley a truly idyllic place. In the lower part of the valley, near Streckewalde, the valley is particularly picturesque and free of any traffic. The Höllenmühle, an old grain mill located in the Sandbach Valley, is still operational and has been kept almost in its original condition. Every year, on the annual open mill day, it can be visited. It is also possible to rent holiday accommodation in the former mill.
